the ouachita citizenAlong that vein, the Board of Aldermen agreed to enter into a yearly agreement with Retail Strategies LLC. The firm will assess what the city must do to develop its property off I-20 near Ike Hamilton Expo Center.

Though prior efforts to develop the property focused on landing a big-box retail establishment, Mitchell said she would not be surprised if Retail Strategies advocated for mixed-use development near the Ike, including retail as well as office space.

“They will study everything,” Mitchell said.
