BIRMINGHAM, AL (December 16, 2022) – Braselton, Georgia, has appointed Downtown Strategies, a division of Retail Strategies, to develop a five-year downtown strategic plan on behalf of the city. The Downtown Strategies team will host a Strategic Visioning Workshop that includes a walking tour of downtown and gathering input from community leaders, business owners, stakeholders and elected officials. The workshop provides the necessary input to create a customized and strategic action plan for the city.

“Braselton jumped at the opportunity to have the Downtown Strategies team tap into the potential our downtown holds. We began to set our focus on Downtown Strategies because of the wealth of knowledge their team showcased at a Georgia Downtown Association conference. This partnership will capitalize on market driven opportunities to help strengthen the local economy and enhance the appeal of downtown and drive new investment opportunities.”

Jennifer Scott, Town Manager

The plan will focus on five major pillars including market analysis, policy and administration, design, tourism and promotion and economic vitality.

Mill Graves, Retail Strategies director of business development, said, “The town of Braselton is taking a proactive approach to bring strategic growth to a well-positioned and progressive community. Many real estate and economic opportunities will be uncovered as we collaboratively work with stakeholders to elevate Braselton’s charming downtown. We are excited to work with the town staff to build and execute a plan to support the town and business communities’ needs.”

About Braselton, Georgia

Braselton is a town in Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia, approximately 43 miles northeast of Atlanta. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 13,403. The town is named for the Braselton family who settled here in 1876 to establish a successful farming operation.  The three sons of Harrison and Susan Hosch Braselton started a small country store in 1887.  As the Braselton Bros. Department store grew and expanded so did a community.  The brothers saw to it that the Georgia General Assembly incorporated Braselton as a town in 1916.

My relationship with the Retail Strategies team has been extremely valuable over the last couple of years as I’ve searched for sites in the Southeast. They have been persistent and provided any information they could gather for available properties that fit my criteria. If they received news that a space was coming available they made sure to immediately give me a call and connect with the owners. I would recommend using this service to any of my colleagues looking in their client cities.
