Cookeville, TN Council considers contract extension with Retail Strategies

Cookeville City Council members are considering a contract extension with a company that uses market data and research to encourage retailers to expand to the city.

Some of the projects Retail Strategies have worked on include Academy Sports+Outdoors, Chipotle, Publix and Popeye’s Chicken.

Retail Strategies is reportedly working on seven new projects in Cookeville that have retailers working on deals or reviewing sites in Cookeville.

The City of Cookeville relies heavily on sales tax from the city’s retailers. Sales tax makes up roughly half of the city’s revenue.
