Georgia counties attend economic development summit

Retail Development Institute Summit

Last month, Valdosta State University hosted its inaugural Retail Development Institute Summit. Mill Graves, director of business development for Retail Strategies, spoke with ABC27 Tallahassee about the work in rural communities throughout the state of Georgia.

Eight counties were accepted to go through the rural economic development workshop and evaluation administered by Valdosta State University. The counties, all with populations of less than 50,000, are Bacon, Dawson, Lanier, Mitchell, Peach, Seminole, Twigs, and Worth. Retail Strategies was selected as the expert in retail to provide economic development resources and equip attendees with best practices.

My relationship with the Retail Strategies team has been extremely valuable over the last couple of years as I’ve searched for sites in the Southeast. They have been persistent and provided any information they could gather for available properties that fit my criteria. If they received news that a space was coming available they made sure to immediately give me a call and connect with the owners. I would recommend using this service to any of my colleagues looking in their client cities.
