BIRMINGHAM, AL (January 10, 2024) – The City of Moline is pleased to partner with Retail Strategies, a leading retail consulting firm. The partnership with the city will include a strategic retail recruitment plan identifying prospective retailers and facilitating connections with local brokers and developers.  This collaboration solidifies Moline’s commitment to attracting new retail and restaurant brands to the community to provide a better quality of life for residents.

Chris Mathias, Moline’s director of community and economic development, said, “Moline recognizes that expanding retail and restaurant brands are actively seeking new locations. To ensure that our city remains on the radar of these businesses, we are joining forces with Retail Strategies. We had a previous partnership that was fruitful, Retail Strategies had a hand in attracting Dick’s Sporting Goods, Moe’s Southwestern Grill, Panda Express, Verizon, Popeye’s, Jersey Mike’s and Chick-fil-A and we’re expecting great things from their team this time around as well.”

John Tiedt, Director of Community Partnerships at Retail Strategies, said, “Every community has a distinct identity and value. At Retail Strategies, we believe in actively showcasing what makes Moline special and being strategic with what the market can support. By utilizing our national network, we can connect with expanding businesses and demonstrate why Moline is an ideal destination for their growth.”

Retail Strategies will perform both a consumer data analysis and a real estate market analysis to identify Moline’s custom retail trade area and build a target retail and restaurant list that match opportunities in the market. After an in-market visit, Retail Strategies will proactively reach out to potential retailers, property owners, brokers and developers on behalf of the city and represent the city at relevant conferences.

My relationship with the Retail Strategies team has been extremely valuable over the last couple of years as I’ve searched for sites in the Southeast. They have been persistent and provided any information they could gather for available properties that fit my criteria. If they received news that a space was coming available they made sure to immediately give me a call and connect with the owners. I would recommend using this service to any of my colleagues looking in their client cities.
