BIRMINGHAM, AL (September 14, 2021) – Big Bear Lake, California has selected Retail Strategies to provide focused recruitment on behalf of the city to backfill the Kmart vacancy located on Big Bear Boulevard. The retailer left the city back in February leaving the 40,000 SF spot vacant as well as some additional vacant spaces in the Kmart center.
“Kmart leaving Big Bear Lake has left a gap in our market in regards to a large, general retailer,” said Susan O’Strander, director of Big Bear Lake community development. “Retail Strategies has had proven success in recruiting retailers to communities across the country. We know they’ll bring a creative strategy to backfilling the Kmart space and the rest of the center.”

Through the new partnership, Retail Strategies will perform a real estate market analysis and provide key analytics along with marketing materials to the city of Big Bear Lake. The Retail Strategies team will work hand in hand with city leaders and the property ownership team to help them understand the market and proactively market the vacant spaces in the Kmart center.
