BIRMINGHAM, AL (August 19, 2024) – The City of Camarillo is excited to announce its latest initiative to revitalize the historic Old Town area by partnering with Downtown Strategies, the downtown division of Retail Strategies. Through this collaboration to provide a comprehensive roadmap and plan for the revitalization of Old Town, focusing on enhancing the community while uncovering opportunities for further development.
Camarillo is committed to preserving the charm and character of Old Town while creating a vibrant, dynamic environment for residents and visitors. The city has engaged Downtown Strategies to identify potential opportunities for growth and development, including new retail spaces, restaurants, and other amenities. The partnership will also focus on improving the pedestrian experience to make Old Town more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

We believe this partnership will provide the path and guidance necessary to transform Old Town into a thriving hub of activity and culture.”
Downtown Strategies will leverage its expertise in downtown development to provide a tailored plan that address the specific needs of Old Town Camarillo. They will host a Strategic Visioning Workshop on August 21 to gather input from community stakeholders and business leaders. This input, along with market data and the city’s vision, will drive the development of a strategic plan that will outline the next five years of revitalization efforts.
