Lindsay, California Seeks Retail Recruitment and Community Growth with Retail Strategies

BIRMINGHAM, AL (January 27, 2022) – Retail Strategies, the leading national retail recruitment firm, has partnered with Lindsay, California, to offer retail recruitment, downtown strategic planning, and small business support. This partnership will be funded using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

“Partnering with Retail Strategies opens doors for Lindsay to recover and support our community after COVID-19,” said Joe Tanner, city manager of Lindsay. “I started in my role as city manager at the start of the pandemic and I have seen the urgency to curate and seek ways to help support our city. The team at Retail Strategies provides ways to recruit retail to our city while retaining our small business community and driving downtown revitalization. We are excited to be utilizing Lindsay’s ARPA funds to strengthen our city.”

“Lindsay is the perfect example of a community utilizing every tool at their disposal,” said Matthew Tate, director of business development. “I was initially told about the opportunity in downtown Lindsay by Verna and Bill Kirkpatrick, two people who have spent their lives raising amazing people and caring greatly about attracting the right businesses to rural central valley towns like Lindsay.”

Through the new partnership, Retail Strategies will perform a real estate market analysis of Lindsay to identify areas of opportunity for expanding businesses to open in the city. The Retail Strategies team will partner with city leaders to help them understand their market’s unique opportunities for additional sales tax collections and options to enhance the city’s quality of life. Additionally, Retail Strategies will proactively reach out to potential businesses, property owners, brokers, and developers to market the City of Lindsay for new retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and commercial development.

Downtown Strategies will host an in-market workshop with business owners, merchants, community leaders, and elected officials to gain feedback and stimulate dialogue on the community’s vision for downtown Lindsay. The team will execute an in-depth market and real estate analysis to create Lindsay’s customized Downtown Strategic Plan with specific strategies focused on design, walkability, policy, tourism, and economic catalyst opportunities for surrounding downtown area.
