This strategic collaboration will enhance the downtown area, boosting economic growth and community engagement.

“We are excited to work with Downtown Strategies, a team known for their extensive experience with college towns like ours,” said Russell Humphrey, Mayor of Huntsville. “Their expertise and tailored approach promise to bring innovative solutions and dynamic growth to our cherished downtown area.”

Chris Bontrager, Vice President of the Western Region for Retail Strategies, shared his optimism about the project, stating, “Downtown Huntsville holds immense potential as a vibrant hub for business, culture, and community life. Our team of downtown practitioners will take input from the client and the downtown stakeholders and leverage their expertise to create a plan that fosters a thriving downtown.”

The Downtown Strategies team will conduct a Strategic Visioning Workshop that will bring together all downtown stakeholders, including business and property owners, as well as the core team from the city. This collaborative effort will ensure a comprehensive understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations.

The deliverable of this partnership will be a five-year strategic action plan that outlines phased initiatives.
